White Stripes’ Jack White ties knot with British model Karen Elson
The White Stripes singer wed model Karen Elson yesterday in a canoe on
Brazil's Amazon River.
The news was first posted on WhiteStripes.com and later confirmed by the band's
publicist.
According to the web site, a traditional shaman priest performed the canoe-based
ceremony "on the confluence of three rivers…in the Amazon basin in the city of
Manaus."
A publicist for Jack White has confirmed that the singer-guitarist married
British model Karen Elson.
Karen Elson, 25, famous for her porcelain-white skin and fierce red locks, is
considered to be one of the most successful models today. She is currently a
face of Yves Saint Laurent, Prada and Banana Republic. She also starred in
campaigns for Gucci, Valentino, and Versace.
Karen also stars in the band's latest video "Blue Orchid" in which she is
covered with snakes. Not surprising, she also has her musical album to be
released some day soon.
White Stripes, blues-rock band's fifth full-length album, Get Behind Me Satan,
is due to release next week. The group won the Grammy in 2003 with their album
Elephant.
Jack White is also famous for his two-year romance with Renee Zellweger who got
married month ago. They co-starred in Anthony Minghella's Cold Mountain.
